All Time Top 50 Cartoon Shows

I think just about everyone has a soft spot for cartoons. There is a wide variety out there, each with something to offer.Don’t you miss those days when you would just stick to the idiot box for hours together watching your favorite cartoon shows…??

The cartoon is indeed a wonderful thing. Once mostly deemed to be the territory of a kids-only audience, the world of animation has evolved over the years so as to appeal to adults as well as children… or is it just that many adults these days have the minds of children?

The only criteria I used for my selection process was that each had to be a cartoon television series that ran for at least an entire ratings season and it had to be good – either funny or well-written.

1.The Simpsons

“The Simpsons” is the most famous cartoon show till date since its debut in the year 1987. Matt Groening is the creator of this series; he started out as a cartoonist drawing weekly comic series for a regional newspaper namely “Life in Hell”. The Simpsons family appeared as shorts on The Tracy Ullman Show on April 19, 1987. Later after 3 successful seasons, The Simpsons was developed into half – an – hour prime time show. The family of Simpsons had these main characters playing their role’s Marge Simpson (female, Housewife), Homer Jay Simpson (male, Safety inspector), Brat Simpson (male, student at the springfield elementary school), Lisa Simpson (female, student), Maggie Simpson( youngest child oh marge and homer).

2.Looney Tunes
These are the most popular and most widely seen cartoons all over the world. These cartoons gave rise to many other cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Sylvestor, Speedy Gonales, Tweety, Taz, Road runner and many more. These are such a great cartoon series. The Warner Brothers cartoons have been shown on television for more than four decades! Their success on the small screen has confounded their creators, who only intended for them to be exhibited in theatres within a year of production.Looney Tunes is a Warner Bros cartoon animated series which was released seventy years ago in the month of April in 1930. The first looney tune animation was an eight minute flick namely "Sinking in the Bathtub" with two characters in the play namely Bosko and Honey. The series' popularity has prompted the release of a media franchise, contributing to its position as Nickelodeon's highest rated show. Whether you're four or 40, you can find joy in this show. Oftentimes, SpongeBob will actually win out in the battle over "there's nothing good to watch on TV right now."

6.South Park

South Park instantly took over Comedy Central with their four foul mouthed Colorado elementary school kids, but the show has taken a drastic turn from the hilarious rude comedy that it started out as, and has become one of televisions most culturally relevant programs.Very few shows -- animated or not -- have been on for 12 seasons and still retain the relevance and entertainment value of South Park. Episodes alternate between sharp satirical looks at society to pop culture parodies to scatological humor
